Hi!

Turned out that my Kayla project became my girlfriend's gun. Actually, she now uses my HK416 and my JP Rifle which she now calls Jake.

I, on the other hand, have switched guns and am now using my new babies:

Hi everyone! Due to the camo painting project that my girlfriend and I did, and we were satisfied with the results, I was able to muster enough courage to assemble my own gun. I decided to go for an M4 variant since parts are readily available plus there are so many ways to dress up an M4. I saw a 7" JP rifle front assembly kit at Airsoft Global and decided to order it online (credit card reason). Took more than a month to get here (from Hong Kong) and it cost about 1k more than what it costs if I bought it locally.

I ordered the following from Tactical Lab, Lock and Load and TLP Bunker (Manila Shops):

TLP Bunker:
Metal Body with small parts
1-piece M4 metal hop-up
Stubby Metal Sling Adaptor
CA M4 air nozzle

Tactical Lab:
JG complete mech box (V2)
2 pieces P-Mags

Lock and Load:
Element G27 grip
Quad Ring
6mm metal bushings

I was supposed to order the mech box from an entrepreneur but had problems with shipping, luckily, the ever dependable Tactical Lab had stocks.

The mech box they gave me is one of the newer generations since it already has a better piston body (orange) and metal bushings.

I also got a 407mm, 6.02mm tight bore barrel from EdGI. It's made of brass but the inner finishing is quite superb.

Due to budget constraints, I haven't bought a motor for this project gun. I "borrowed" the TechPro Hi-torque motor from Kristine (my HK 416) together with her Stubby grip (the motor plate that I have couldn't fit properly on the Element G27 grip).

I bought a stubby stock from Triad here in CDO. The mech box that I got was "front configured" so I had to re-wire everything since my battery compartment would be at the stock. I also wired the Termi-MOSFET that I have lying around for quite some time, waiting to be used. I know a bit of Electronics and got my tools already so it wasn't much of a hassle to wire everything.

This is also the first time that I shimmed the gears. The gears are moving much freely now and there's not much wobble so I think I did a good job. I haven't placed the Quad Ring yet to maximize compression since the stock O-ring is still fine. I used a bit of teflon tape on the lube channel of the piston head so that only a little expansion from the O-ring is needed to provided an air seal.

I replaced the stock air nozzle with the new one and I'd be putting the former to a JG Beta Spetsnaz, a project gun for my girlfriend. Got everything assembled and ready to go. So, without further ado, here's "Kayla"

Assault on Sector 7

ConTAG is once again invited to a one-day tournament on February 8, 2008. The tournament, dubbed as Assault on Sector 7, is considered a Sunday Game and is the 1st Airsoft Tournament to be organized by the Tactical Unit - Pinelands Airsoft Club (TUPAC). The said event will help promote the hobby and game of airsoft in the community. The activity will also strengthen the group bond to the society especially to the youth thus, encouraging them thru the welfare of sports.

The tournament will be held at Field 7, Camp Phillips, Bukidnon and will be composed of 11 Teams. This is an objective-based, CQB type game with each team being composed of 15. The 15-man team would need to accomplish certain tasks to gain points. The team with the highest points wins!

If ever you're in the area, do drop by and view how Airsoft is played. This would surely be a fun and exciting game!
